# Portfolio

|
|
Foundational Dockerized Django project for a portfolio website.
|
|
|
|
## Start
|
|
|
|
```sh
|
|
docker compose run --rm frontend npm run build
|
|
docker compose up --build -d
|
|
docker compose exec web python manage.py migrate
|
|
```
|
|
|
|
The development server is available at <http://localhost:8000>. Portfolio
|
|
entries and their map regions can be managed at <http://localhost:8000/admin/>.
|
|
|
|
## Common Commands

|
|
|
`.env.example` contains local-only development defaults. Create a separate
|
|
untracked `.env` and update `compose.yaml` before using environment-specific
|
|
values outside local development.
|
|
|
|
## Map Data
|
|
|
|
The React map island uses committed, optimized TopoJSON assets derived from
|
|
public-domain [Natural Earth](https://www.naturalearthdata.com/) Admin-0 and
|
|
Admin-1 data. The browser does not request a map provider or API key.
|
